What Am I In For?
Imagine if you had a family member who had all the tools, experience, and availability to help you out.
What would you ask them for?
How it Works
When you make a request…
1. Your request is added to the list
Your request is added to a big list of everyone else’s requests.
When verified members log in they’ll see the full list of requests, organized by (a) how close they live, and (b) if the request is something they’re good at.
When they view this list they can’t see your address or contact information (just your name, photo, approximate distance from them, and the request itself).
2. When your request is claimed, you'll be notified
Once a neighbour finds a request they can help with, they can “claim” the request.
This will notify you and put you in touch with that neighbour.
3. If you're comfortable, you can proceed
If the person looks like a good match, you can proceed (otherwise, you can decline and repost your request).
Using the in-app messaging, you can arrange time, location, and details. No need to share your phone number or email address.
4. You get the help you need
Your neighbour will come at the time and place you arranged and help you with whatever you needed!
After you’ve been helped, you can still contact them using the in-app messaging.
5. Make another request
If you need something else in the future, just submit a new request and a new neighbour will claim it.
Who Are These People?
Churches building your community alongside you.
Amplify Community found out that churches were looking for better ways to help their surrounding communities - so we decided to give them that opportunity. When a church signs up for Amplify Community, this opens the platform to their surrounding neighbourhoods. These churches train and verify members within their church, and provide support as connections are made. They help with the organization and administration in their area. It also gives church members a chance to get to know their neighbours and be an active part of their community.
If you just need help, you'll get help - no strings attached.
If you just want to help, you have neighbours who need it.
And you'll probably meet some great people along the way!
Why Are They Doing This?
Churches are kind of like big big families - some are formal and business-like, some are loud, some are awkward and fun, some are like you - but all of them have a support network built in. When someone has a baby, people drop off a few meals to help out; when someone moves, there’s people to load the truck; when someone is in the hospital, everyone comes together to support that family.
The churches using Amplify Community have decided they want to extend their church family out into the community, and this platform allows them to extend that support to the neighbours outside their walls.
Everyone needs a support network. We hope Amplify Community can give that to you.
