About Amplify Community
What religion is this?
Amplify Community is not a religious organization. We have employees of various religions, we have member organizations (churches, colleges, kids camps, etc.) which often ascribe to being Christ Followers, but Amplify Community (a business) is simply a software company.
Who do you help?
Anyone who lives in an area where Amplify is active (there has to be volunteers in the area), and who is over 18 years of age (if you have a legal guardian, they will need to make the request for you). But we don’t worry about if you’re rich or poor, strong or weak, short or tall, well-dressed or casual, or what ethnicity, gender, lifestyle, or sense of humour you have. You are valuable, and we want to help.
What’s the cost?
Zero dollars and zero cents. There is no cost. There will never be a cost.
What’s the catch?
Hmm. We want to say “no catch”, but the truth is you’re inviting a real human being to your home. You’ll talk with them, possibly work alongside them, and find out if you like them. You might not like them (and that’s okay too). They’re also a volunteer - they might screw up, they might say something the wrong way, they might be clumsy, they might be too churchy for you. But they want to help. So that’s that catch.
What if I have a complaint?
We hope your volunteer does a great job. If it’s something small, please forgive them, and ask for help fixing it. If it’s something big, you’ll have the opportunity to leave feedback about the volunteer. If it’s something really big, please reach out to us.
What if the volunteer wrecks something?
First advice - be very cautious if you ask a volunteer to help with something they could wreck. Second advice - check their work and make sure they did it well. Third - If a volunteer wrecks something, please reach out to us - maybe there’s a way to fix it.
Can I pick who comes to help me?
Not exactly. If the first volunteer you’re matched with is a bad fit, you can request a new volunteer, but unfortunately you can’t choose who you’re matched with. Volunteers are chosen according to their location, availability, skills, and interests.
Are there limits to what I can request?
Yes there are limits! Don’t ask for things that are illegal. Don’t ask for things of a sexual nature. Don’t ask for things to do with drugs or alcohol. Don’t ask for things that would put you or anyone else in danger. Don’t ask for legal advice. Don’t ask for medical advice. Don’t ask for things you (or the volunteer) will regret… tattoos are a bad idea.

Is this a charity?
No. Amplify Community is passionately driven by social good, building relationships, and making our neighbourhoods better places to live, but we aren’t a charity. We still pay taxes.
How many things can I ask for?
As many things as you’d like, but just a few at a time. Once your existing requests are complete, you can ask for something new.

How do I create an account?
If you’d like to request services, account creation starts with your first request. Simply head to the Home page and start your first request!
If you’re looking to serve, you’ll need an invite from the organization/church you’re signing up under. Ask them, or read more about it on the Get Involved page.

I lost my password. What do I do?
Just click “login” at the top, then click “forgot password”. If you don’t remember what email you signed up with, just click “forgot email”.
Do you have an app?
Not yet - but we’re working on it! For now, we’ve built the entire system so you can use it on your phone/tablet in your browser. If you’d like, you can even save an app icon on your Home Screen!

How do I close my account?
Once you’re logged in, click your profile image on the top right, then click “Profile Settings”. Now scroll to the bottom and click “Close Account”...
