Many people think there is only ONE correct reading of each Bible passage and frequently miss the mark because of this.
Reading the Bible can take on many forms - most of which are correct at different times and places in our lives. One of the hang ups of many Followers is to read the Bible in the correct way, but remain closed to other perspectives and ways to read it.
Let us counter your theology classes, and suggest there is a time for:
Understanding the Bible in the original context, culture and language
Moments when we feel called to read passages as promises to us personally
New perspectives to be found within old scriptures; meanings that don’t overwrite our previous reading, but add layers to them
And others… From prophetic words, to words of encouragement, to words spoken to your soul (rather than just your mind).
